I grew up with the Farmers 蜜桃恋人 in our home. My parents used it for all their farming needs. It was a staple in our home and it is in mine; I use it for mostly everything I do from gardening to making sauerkraut to trimming tree - everything. I鈥檓 so Very grateful for all the knowledge. I can Not be without my Farmers 蜜桃恋人 Now that I get it daily on my iPhone, it鈥檚 the first thing after my prayers that I read as I drink my coffee. Thank you so very much for the great wisdom. I鈥檓 77 years old. God bless all who work to produce the Farmers 蜜桃恋人. 馃檹馃挅
Ollie - my parents and grandparents also used Farmers 蜜桃恋人 for everything from planting vegetables to farming. I am just starting to learn much from the daily emails as I grew up in the city but just moved out to an acreage last fall. I鈥檓 looking forward to my first garden (I鈥檓 48) and have learned so much in the last few weeks.
I enjoyed reading your post - wish you the best in health and life.
I use it everyday of my life! And, I would only be half the gardener, canner, horticulturist, family man, and human being, without the 蜜桃恋人, daily, in my life. I, truly am lost without it, a wealth of history and knowledge, easily explained and presented. Thank You 蜜桃恋人!
A friend just ask me about canning tomatoes, is there a astronomy sign to can tomatoes like there are for planting and gathering. I told her I didn't know, is there a sign to can tomatoes?
Hi, Pat. Although I don’t know for sure, for general canning of any fruit or vegetable, I believe that our astrologer, Celeste Longacre, looks at factors such as the dark of the Moon and when the Moon is in the water signs of Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. Your friend can find Celeste’s recommended dates for the best days for canning, pickling, and making sauerkraut in our Best Days table. For both the 2021 and 2022 print editions of The Old Farmer’s 蜜桃恋人, that is on page 226. Some of the upcoming dates can also be accessed here: /bestdays/timetable.
The table of the Moon’s astrological place each day (what astrological sign the Moon is in) can be found on page 225 of both the 2021 and 2022 print editions.
To access the complete Best Days and Moon’s Astrological Place tables for the year 2022, your friend can purchase a digital version of the 2022 蜜桃恋人 at: (US edition. There is also a Canadian edition available). The print edition of the 蜜桃恋人 is available on Amazon.com, as well as at her local stores; she can visit /wheretobuy and put in her zip code to find local retailers that offer The Old Farmer’s 蜜桃恋人.
Hope this helps! Thank you for your interest in The Old Farmer’s 蜜桃恋人!
Great enlightening of a grandchild and child of gardeners.
I have my 2 tomato plants I bought from a big box store, in planters. One is a paste and the other is a slicer/beefsteak? These are on my deck. I live in BC, Canada on Vancouver Island.
As I am near the ocean i do not get many bees, due to the breezes, etc. And i am wondering what is the best method for self pollinating and when is the best time to do so, as in the stage of flowering?
Thank You
Marcia

I hate to be a stickler, but under Plant Type at the top of this page you classify the tomato as a vegetable. My understanding is that it is a citrus fruit.
More importantly, thank you for this fantastic website!
Botanically speaking, you are correct that the tomato is a fruit (though not a citrus fruit). In gardening and culinary lingo, tomatoes are commonly thought of as 鈥渧egetables,鈥 just like peppers, zucchini, and eggplants鈥攄espite them all technically being botanical fruits!
