Funny, but I have never seen a bird eat old moldy or bad seed in the wild nor have I seen them eat bad seed off the ground underneath the bird food feeders. I also do not have a problem feeding any bird that shows up... after all that is the reason I feed is to make sure birds are eating. Just as in the wild birds will remove the bullies so they can eat or else we wouldn't have the nice little pretty ones. The only ones I will bring in the bird feeders on are the grackles. They will swarm the backyard and kill the other baby birds and attempting to get to the bird feeders. After a few days those birds will leave to find better pastures usually in the Walmart parking lot and I can put the bird feeders out again.
