Don't worry, KT, I work as a state park naturalist, and oak trees are plentiful. Oftentimes, acorns go uneaten by wildlife, since mature trees can produce a huge quantity. Every so often, such as last year we have a "mast" year. Many trees had massive quantities of nuts and seeds.
