I sometimes use the baking soda and water for heartburn.
I read somewhere that sleeping on your left side will help eliminate nighttime heartburn. I tried it, and it works. I think it has to do with the shape of your stomach. It allows me to burp, and after that the heartburn is gone.
I will try licking some salt to see if it works for me.
