Exercise, rest, good foods, relax, wash hands, and going outside are all great tips.
I'd add:
Drink Water- many people who catch a strain of influenza go to ER because they're dehydrated.
Stay out of the hospital and clinics as much as possible. Real sick folks are there, you could catch a strain of flu or strep, etc. Make well-child or annual doctor visits between March-August.
Also, some folks and kids should refuse the flu shot, or have it administered by nasal or other formats besides needle- check the package insert, learn your options, your risks, compare your health situation.
