I have two jade plants, one is about five years old, and the other is only a year or two. I never knew they were supposed to look like small trees; both seem to want to be some kind of ground cover, sending their branches out in a horizontal plane; to be perfectly honest, I think they look rather ugly. Is it a characteristic of the particular variety, or am I doing something wrong? (I've had others in the past, and they've all done the exact same thing.)
