If there is any way you can give the plant a southern exposure鈥攅ven as a single plant outside of your plot鈥攜ou may be able to increase its sunshine. If critters are a concern, know that they seldom go after (eat) it, and it will remain pretty self-contained for 4, 5, or even 6 years (before dividing is needed).
