Sir, I live in Panama which. I have a lot of experience growing okra in the tropics. Depending on what type of okra you grow, you will have a different experience with how long is your harvest season. Many US variety's will produce quickly, then have a very short harvest season, then decline and die(if planted in the tropics). If you grow short day variety's, and this will vary, your harvest season will also vary. There are thousands of different variety's of okra, many are well adapted to short-day climates but we don't really have access to the seeds as they are mostly from Africa. You can try contacting Echo, in Florida and ordering a variety of okra they call African okra. This variety can live for several years and produce well over a very long season. You then prune this plants and they will produce again. I know, this is a late answer but I hope it gets to you.
