I have an almost 12 year old Siberian husky. This is the third Husky I have had in my life and there is no other breed for me. Amazingly smart, need lots of exercise and time spent together. Owning any dog is a lifetime responsibility and be prepared to exercise, feed quality foods, and/or cook for them. Do not leave alone very much at all and I take Evie everywhere with me. Of course, I do not leave her in a hot car. Luckily, I spend 3 to 4 months in South Carolina during the winter and that is the place to have freedom to take your dog most stores, run on the beach and enjoy cool weather. Most restaurants with patios or decks allow dogs as long as they are well behaved, of course.
With any dog, be prepared to take her to the vet and provide care when necessary.
This can run up to be quite a bit of money sometimes so don’t neglect your dog by not giving her correct necessary medical care. Of course you need to be prepared to spend some money on professional training classes with other dogs which work out very well. It’s you they will train, not your dog.!
I cannot imagine life without my Husky, but she is approaching old age at 12
I’ve been through two other huskies, who died and it’s heartbreaking, but you have to move on and find another companion.
