Half of an eggshell makes a great pot. I usually put a little seed starting mix in this and plant right in the ground. I then use all those plastic boxes from lettuce and cover the seeds. Biodegradable, and boxes make a mini greenhouse. No transplanting, so no shock to the plants. Usually anchor the boxes with a rock. If it gets cold, I can put a blanket over the boxes. I've used this for the past 2 years with good success. You can crack the eggshells slightly after you plant them. Make sure to label.
