We Native Americans are alive and well today. We have survived many sorrows. Our lives matter as every life matters. I don't believe the article was written to be offensive. I do believe the author should've done far more research with our people instead of on our people. The best source for anything would be to get it straight from the people.
Many of these same techniques are still being used by our people. It is nice to see we get credit for something for a change, especially something huge like sustanibility and permaculture. It's new to gardeners, but to us, it's part of our culture and always has been. :)
