A potato barrel is a fun growing project. Starting with a layer of soil, placing seed potatoes in place and covering them with a small layer of soil. When the potatoes peak through, it’s time for another layer of soil. Continue layering until the barrel is full. Then allow the foliage to grow. Come fall, it will be time to gently dig down for the potatoes. If the barrel is big, a perforated pipe an be put in the center for watering. Never grew huge potatoes but it was fun.
