I bought the "new" reselected strain from Johnny's in 2020 with high hopes that I wouldn't be getting the mix of sugar snaps and snow peas that I'd been getting from various sources marketed as Sugar Snaps. I've been growing the original Sugar Snaps as well as Super Sugar Snaps since the mid-1980s here in Southwest Michigan. In 2020 I planted the new reselected variety as well as old Sugar Snap and Super Sugar Snap seeds that I'd saved from previous years. Results were that the reselected strain was more uniform but still somewhat variable. It was also noticeably less vigorous than the other two types. Based on my observations, it doesn't appear as if they've quite perfected the Sugar Snap to its original state yet.
