Time of day isn’t much of a factor when it comes to pruning. The only thing you would want to be aware of is whether there is rain in the forecast, as humidity can increase the chance of freshly-cut branches getting infected by disease. So, to give cut branches a chance to heal, don’t prune less than 24 hours before rain is expected and wait until plants are dry after a rainstorm.
