I just wanted to add a hot pepper to your list. Varengata Peppers are a beautiful addition to any patio! The leaves of the plant are green with random white streaks through them. They produce very pretty little purple flowers. When the peppers first come on the plant they are green. Then they turn a deep purple! They are hot once they are purple, but if left on the plant these little 1/2" peppers turn red. They are related to the Jalapeño pepper, and are shaped like mini Jalapeños. I have put as many as 4 in a 2 gallon pot.
