The number of Pi is amazing. They have calculated it out to many places (trillion?) and not rounded off yet. In my engineering business I have it to 10 places memorized as I use it many times over the years. Just like my Air Force Serial number to 8 places and that was 55 years ago.
In the logging industry and Foresters have a tape measure with increments measured in circumferences and marked in diameter readings. Wrap the tape around the tree and read the diameter on the scale. This is used in "cruising" the timber in evaluating board feet and volumes
