I have caught something on video I'm hoping someone can point me in a direction to have it analyzed.. think it's a meteor peice or something..
2023 will be my best year yet! I am amazed by everything ASTRONOMY/ASTROLOGY TOO! I will be by myself most likely but meteor showers are when Im happiest. There is something about watching "the sky fall" in beautiful bits of magical stardust that makes me feel happy and amazed! Thanks for sharing guys, I love learning about comets and meteors.. I am carefully planning my 2023 around these spectacular nights even at the cost of working without much sleep lol.
The months of November and December 2022 have been full of bright planets and meteors. Jupiter has been visible for almost 2 months. Beginning to mid December I managed to see Mars on a few nights .... very impressive yellow haze. Then of course the Geminid Meteor Showers ... on December 13 at 9:13 PM a meteor went over my house in a long white light. Also the 3 stars that are in a row are part of Orions Belt. For a couple of months I was wondering what they were until I went online to the sight that shows Planets, stars visible in my area. I am always amazed at the realization of how small we are in the universe.
I am adding to my previous comment to say I live in Quebec, CANADA
Live in Pa. My grandson and I saw 30 in less than 15 minutes! Truly Magical! 馃馃挄馃惂馃尃
After incidentally seeing A Shooting star on the 13. I have become hooked to seeing more because it is exciting, so here I am trying to find out another day to see shooting stars. From Nigeria.
With Orion standing tall over the SW sky and the moon behind the house next door I saw over a dozen bright meteors in about 20 minutes from Crystal Beach Ontario.
Started looking around 11pm, it's almost midnight and I've seen at least a dozen! Some tiny, short, to bright and long. Some going across, some coming straight down. So beautiful!
Not really a comment but more a question. I live in Florida closer to the west coast. Will I be able to see this with the naked eye?
I went outside this morning, 12-9-2021 at 2:50 am central, in Montgomery, AL and got a great surprise. After I sat down I looked at the sky and could not believe my eyes. A shooting star! I had no idea there was a meteor shower this time of the year. After I saw it, I had to come inside and look on the web to see if there was a shower this time of year. I鈥檓 going to bundle up and go back outside to see if I can spot anymore. It is just amazing to see. It only lasts a few seconds and you wonder 鈥渁re my eyes playing tricks on me?鈥 Glad I found out they weren鈥檛! Good luck star gazing.
