How to Harvest Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds are ready to harvest when they are plump, and the back of the flower head is brown and dry. Cut the sunflower head off the stalk, taking about 1 foot of stalk. Rub the seeds over a plate or box; they should fall off easily. Store them in a sealed container. Learn more about harvesting sunflower seeds.
