Are there any possible lower-fat substitutions for the heavy cream? Might thawed frozen dairy or non-dairy topping (such as Cool Whip) work? Thanks!
I Love this pie!! I use to make this pie for Christmas years ago. It was so yummy! My family loved it! But I misplaced the recipe and couldn't remember all the ingredients. I'm so happy I found it again! Thank you!

I LOVE the idea of this pie but I made it and it froze for over a day and still came out like slop. It's not nearly stiff at all in the shape of a pie slice. And I tested my freezer it works! Any idea where I went wrong? Also it tastes great still!

Did you only thaw the pie for 15 to 30 minutes before serving? It certainly should not be slop! Glad to hear it tasted good!
