Planting, Growing, and Caring for Morning Glory Flowers
ADVERTISEMENT
For those who want morning glories but don't want to deal with it's prolific tendency to re-seed, Heavenly Blue has a sterile seed and will not become invasive.
Burpee and others are selling Convolvulus seeds this year. They make no mention of its invasive nature. Is this a new variety?
Do morning glories like heat? the spot for them is in a corner formed by a building: it catches and "emphasizes" the heat in summer.
Yes, they do rather well, as long as a watering after hours us dine regularly. Have beautiful and big healthy leaves with Purple, pink and blue flowers.
Heat happens but as long as they're not dry .I think heat and sun is they're love.
I've grown them for many years in many places. It's trial and Era. But hopefully you're able to enjoy your glories.
Can I grow morning glories in planters? I live in an area with all rock.
Yes, morning glories will happily grow in containers!
I have wonderfully prolific vines but no flower activity?
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Mary
There could be a couple of reasons that your plant do/did not flower:
• they got a late start getting growing
• there is too much nitrogen in the soil (nitrogen promotes foliage)
• the soil is too rich/compost-y; MGs are perfectly happy in poor soil, so save the good stuff for something else.
What do we do if we over fertilized & all we have is lots of leaves-no flowers?
