Planting, Growing, and Caring for Hyacinths

a friend gave me a hyacinth. it is in a vase with water with long roots. can I plant this in the ground? the long green stems are starting to wilt over.
You can plant the hyacinth outdoors now but it’s not going to rebloom this spring. Let the foliage die back. With luck it will bloom next spring in your garden.
I am having yard work done and have to move my Hyacinth. They are actively growing. Can I move them without killing them?
You can move them if you take care to dig deep so that you don’t damage the roots. Move the bulbs with soil around them.
I was given a Hyathins for Valentines Day in a pot and it says do not plant til fall so what should I do with it til fall. Can you help me? I live in Central Fla.
Hi ,
I bought my beautiful Hyacinth pot from grocery store while it was in bloom with three beautiful and fragrant blooms and they eventually and slowly dried up. I live in the zone 5B in an apartment but my apartment gets very bright sun. My hyacinths did not like too much sun so I kept them in indirect sunlight. Slowly the tips of the leaves are turning yellow and I do not see any more bloom, it is not even spring yet in Michigan. How much should I water them and whats the right amount of sunlight required for hyacinths? Also should I wait and see if it blooms again? Should I use any fertilizer or any plant food yet ? I love my plants and any help is much appreciated !
Thanks so much!

The hyacinths that you have were forced to bloom early. They will not bloom again this year. Let the plant die back and then you can save the bulbs to bloom again next year. Please see information about forcing bulbs at the top of this page and also read some of the questions and answers about how to save hyacinth bulbs on this page.
Do they only bloom once a yr ..
Have a pot of 3 hyacinths that are beautiful, but top heavy. They keep leaning over. How can I remedy this? Do they need lots of light or not? Thanks for your help.
It is in a light filled window, so I thought it must need more . However, the 3 blooms have not perked up. This has happened to me in past years. What am I doing wrong?
