What is a Moon Sign? 

You are probably more familiar with your monthly zodiac sign, your “Sun Sign.” The Sun takes around a month to transit through a zodiac sign, which is why each month is assigned a sign (Aries, Taurus, etc.). Which Zodiac sign are you?

The Moon also travels through each zodiac sign, though much more quickly. It usually takes less than 3 days. We refer to the sign of the zodiac that the Moon is transiting through as the “Moon Sign.” 

What Does the Moon Sign Mean? 

Like the Sun, the Moon also plays a role in our lives. From controlling the tides with its gravitational force to tracking time as a calendar of the heavens, the Moon has been a driving force for many. 

The Moon has a different energy than the Sun. According to age-old wisdom, the Moon influences our moods, feelings, instincts, and unconscious desires. The position of the Moon also speaks to the child/mother relationship and the energies shared. 

Finding the Moon’s Astrological Place 

The chart below lists the Moon’s astrological place for each day of the month. This is determined by where the Moon is located at 12:00 P.M. ET along the ecliptic. The , simply put, is the plane of Earth’s orbit around the Sun. It’s broken up into 12 30° sections named for the zodiac constellations that had been within them more than 2,000 years ago. How Does the Moon’s Sign Affect You?

Ancient astrologers made the connection that the Moon’s position in the zodiac influenced a specific part of the body—starting at the beginning of the zodiac cycle, with Aries being attributed to the head, moving down the body to the feet (Pisces).
