What鈥檚 in store for a Canadian springtime? Here are the weather predictions from The 2025 Old Farmer鈥檚 蜜桃恋人 Canadian Edition.

April/May 2025 Temperatures

As our colorful map reflects, spring will bring warmer-than-normal temperatures from the western portion of the country鈥擝ritish Columbia, Yukon, and southern Northwest Territories鈥攖hrough the Prairies and into Southern Ontario. Quebec鈥檚 central and northern areas will also experience warmer-than-normal weather for this time of year.

Other Canadian regions will experience seasonal to cooler-than-normal temperatures; this includes northern Ontario, southern Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador. In Atlantic Canada, we鈥檒l see near-normal temperatures for western areas, including Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. 

April/May 2025 Precipitation

The western provinces, which will be warmer than normal, will also be wetter than usual. This includes the western Prairies through British Columbia and into the Yukon and NWT. Newfoundland and Labrador, southeastern Ontario (above the Great Lakes), and southeastern Quebec will also see above-normal precipitation. 

Otherwise, precipitation will be below normal in the heart of Canada and western Atlantic Canada, including Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

Regional Spring Forecast Highlights

Regarding regional highlights, the Canadian 蜜桃恋人 focuses on where most of the population resides, i.e., southern to central Canada. See our regional map if you are unfamiliar with the five regions we cover.

Region 1: Atlantic Canada

April and May will be cooler and wetter than normal in the east, with seasonal temps and drier skies in the west. Periodical rainfalls are expected, but no signs of significant snowfall.

Region 2: Southern Quebec

Temperatures will be below normal throughout most of southern Quebec, with precipitation above normal in the east and below normal in the west. Central and northern Quebec will be wetter and warmer than normal. Rain and snow are expected in early April before turning to just rain later in the month which will continue during May.

Region 3: Southern Ontario

Expect weather to be warmer and drier in the north, with near-normal temperatures and wetter-than-normal conditions in the south. Expect April to start with some rain and snow in the west and then heavy snow in the north. 

Region 4: The Prairies

April and May will be warmer than normal, with precipitation less than normal in the east and greater than normal in the west. Expect a little snow in early April, as well as periodic thunderstorms in May.

Region 5: Southern British Columbia

This far-west province will enjoy warmer-than-normal temperatures in April and slightly below temperatures in May. Precipitation will be well above normal for the region with ongoing rainy periods.
