Sure signs of spring for us are the flocks of sandhill cranes migrating north. They pass right over our town like clockwork every February. We usually hear them trilling to each other long before we can spot them high up. They often circle over the nearby lake before heading north. Maybe they're trying to decide if it's a good place for a pit stop.
