We started a U-Pick orchard 9 yrs ago and have 88 bushes to date.I'd like to have an even 100. We mixed our hole mixture of leaves, pine needles, peat and a little loam. I have added the organic sulphur and need to do it again to the newer bushes, but other than some pine needles for mulch they are fairly easy to care for. I gave my older 3 rows a hard trimming last year so production was way down this year but I expected that,I'll still get around 50 qts-I'm up to 33 now.Last year I had 45 in the freezer and sold the rest. Next year should be awesome. The only problem I have is the jap beetles, which I hand pick in the morning/drown in soapy water, and put the bags upwind as soon as possible, then all is well. There is nothing better than blueberries in anything. All winter long we have fantastic treats.
