Most sweet peas grow best in cooler regions but there are varieties available that tolerate heat and grow through the summer. 'Zinfandel', 'Cupani' and 'Painted Lady' are just a few. One trick to get them to bloom for a long period of time is to keep picking the flowers and not let them go to seed.
