The key is to seek medical help if the pain does not go away after an hour or two or gets worse after you get up. There is very little, short of a joint replacement that will help once there is joint damage. Rheumatoid and Psoriatic arthritis needs to be treated as soon as possible to prevent damage. I wish I would have been able to get treated for RA and PsA 20 years ago. Doctors insisted I was too young (mid 30s) to have either form of arthritis. They said I would be just fine if I exercised more (played or coached hockey for 2 hours every day) , ate an anti-inflammatory diet (triggered Crohn's), took the supplements and huge amounts of vitamin D to the point where I had toxic levels in my body. I was finally diagnosed with Juvenile onset for both forms and was able to start treatment at age 52. I have had to have both knees and a shoulder replaced.

Please do not wait if the things in this article do not help. I still do these things and watch what I eat so that it is easier to get going. Listen to your body and if need be a doctor that will listen to you.
