Well, God is the creator of everything - the universe and everything in it. He created time and space and is the Creator of science as well. But He has always existed - something our small, created brains can not understand. He exists outside of time and space, so if He chooses, He can take a comet that He created and set on it鈥檚 path and make it stop over Bethlehem, if that was the case. Or, He could have created a special star just for the birth of His Son that would move slow enough to be followed and bright enough to be even seen during the day. Just as He did miracles when Moses and the Israelites left Egypt, He can do whatever He wants in order that His Will is accomplished.

God usually acts within the boundaries of what He has created, as in the laws of science - google search Eucharistic miracles and you will read about the science that has proven that the Eucharist is truly Jesus鈥 body and blood. More times than we realize, He acts outside of what we see and know. There are innumerable miracles documented to prove this as well as many 鈥渘ear death鈥 experiences by people of all ages that prove the existence of Heaven and Hell, which again are outside of our limited ability to understand. If a person genuinely wants to know the Truth, they can search it out and God will reveal it to them. The proud and arrogant will not be able to see or accept God鈥檚 Truth. Only the humble can experience it. Joseph, a poor and humble carpenter and Mary, a young girl of about 14 or so. Don鈥檛 forget the shepherds who saw a multitude of Angels. The 3 Kings, though very learned and wealthy, were also humble. Be humble. Peace on earth to men of 鈥済ood will鈥. There鈥檚 the key. We must have good will in our hearts (humility) to really experience God in His Love and care for us.
